Automatic Beer Fermentation Control
Automated Fermentation Control System – Brewing Section
Cogâlnic Brewery
1 project
The project involved the implementation of a fully automated system for controlling the beer fermentation process, one of the most sensitive and critical stages of production. The automation included the installation of high-precision temperature sensors, integration of automated valves for controlling cooling circuits, and configuration of an industrial PLC responsible for continuous monitoring of critical parameters in fermentation tanks.
Through the HMI interface, operators can monitor the evolution of each batch in real time, adjust setpoints, activate operating modes based on beer type, and access parameter history for analysis and optimization. The system dynamically manages temperature variations, applies control algorithms to maintain process stability, and generates alarms in case of deviations, ensuring product protection and precise fermentation control.
The implementation of this system eliminated manual errors, improved batch-to-batch consistency, and increased the operational efficiency of the fermentation section. Automation contributes to achieving a consistent aromatic profile, reducing process losses, and ensuring safe operation, integrating the fermentation section into a modern and scalable industrial control architecture.
