Automated CIP Station – 3 Vessels
Automated CIP Station – 3 Vessels, Siemens PLC & HMI
Unitank Brewery
1 project
The project involved the implementation of a fully automated CIP (Cleaning-In-Place) station, configured with three dedicated vessels: alkaline solution, acid solution, and hot water. The system was designed for cleaning and sanitizing tanks, pipelines, and process installations within Unitank Brewery, in compliance with strict brewing industry standards.
Process control is handled by a Siemens PLC, which manages all cleaning sequences—pre-rinse, solution recirculation, final rinsing, and regeneration—using control algorithms to maintain temperatures, flow rates, and chemical concentrations within optimal limits. All parameters are monitored in real time via temperature, conductivity, pressure, and level sensors.
The HMI interface provides operators with access to CIP recipe selection, process diagram visualization, real-time phase monitoring, and alarm configuration for critical situations. The system ensures full traceability of each cycle, facilitating hygiene audits and resource consumption optimization.
The automation of the CIP station led to standardized sanitation processes, significantly reduced downtime, lower water and chemical consumption, and an overall increase in food safety. The installation is ready for expansion and integration into a plant-wide SCADA system.
