Automatic Fermentation System – Beer
Automated Fermentation Control System – Brewing Section
Unitank Brewery
1 project
The project involved the implementation of a fully automated system for monitoring and controlling the beer fermentation process, a critical element for the quality and consistency of the final product. The technical solution included the installation of high-precision temperature and level sensors, integration of automated valves for controlling cooling circuits, and configuration of an industrial PLC responsible for continuous management of parameters in each fermentation tank.
The HMI platform provides a clear overview of the status of each fermenter, allowing operators to track batch evolution, adjust setpoints, activate fermentation profiles, and access historical graphs for analysis and optimization. The system automatically manages thermal variations using advanced control algorithms, maintaining temperatures specific to each type of beer and preventing deviations that could affect the aromatic profile or microbiological stability.
Automation significantly improved process uniformity, eliminated manual errors, and increased the operational efficiency of the brewing section. Additionally, the system is scalable, allowing the addition of new fermenters or integration into a plant-wide SCADA platform across Unitank Brewery for centralized monitoring and full traceability.
